Rates

Since every project is different, I insist on discussing the project with you in detail before giving you a firm quote.  So what you’ll find below are just some ballpark ranges that will give you a fair idea what you’re likely to pay for the best of the best:

Copywriting (In general, I quote per project with an average of $75/hour as my guide.)

• Headline/Slogan Generation: $150-$250 for up to 20 possibilities
• Classified Ads: $75-$150
• Display Ads: $75-$150
• Advertorials: $350-$650 (assuming 1-2 full pages, more if it’s longer.)
• Direct Mail Sales Letter: $350-$1500 (depending on length and complexity)
• Direct Mail Components: $350-$1500 (depending on complexity of package)
• Print Newsletter: $150-$250 per page
• Company/Product Brochure: $350-$1500
• Annual Report: $5000-$10,000 (depending on length, complexity, and how much legwork I’m expected to do)
• Web Sales Letter: $250-$1000 (depending on length and complexity)
• Landing Page: $200-$900
• Squeeze Page: $150-$250
• E-mail Autoresponder: $50-$250 per e-mail (depending on length and complexity)
• E-newsletter: $50-$450 per newsletter (depending on length and complexity)

Ghostwriting (in general, I quote per project with the ranges based on the amount of research/interviews/legwork I’m expected to do to get the project from start to perfect.)

• Magazine articles: $350-$1500
• Newspaper articles: $150-$600
• Press Release: $150-$250
• Book: $35-$75 per page of finished manuscript
• Speech writing: $75-$150 per minute of finished speech

Consultation – I charge $75 per hour for phone/IM/E-mail consultation with a $150 minimum, or $150 per hour for on-sight consultation with a $300 minimum, plus travel expenses.
Speaking – I charge $2500 plus travel expenses for a 30-minute keynote address written specifically for your function, or $4500 per day for longer programs designed to fit your needs on the following broad subjects:

• Public Speaking University: Harnessing the Power of Speaking Like a Professional – A full-blown public speaking course curriculum beginning with the planning and writing of a speech, through the polishing and practice, high-class delivery, and reaping the full benefits of doing so.  Any or all curriculum modules can be prepared.
• Spruce Up Your Copy: Infusing Passion into Everything You Write – A course detailing how even the most mundane of communications can be enlivened (and therefore made more likely to be read and acted upon) by breathing life into them.  Any or all curriculum modules can be prepared.
• Timeless Principles: How to Live a Satisfying and Successful Life by Swimming Against the Current! – A course in living a successful and satisfying life by focusing on applying timeless principles to one’s own life.  Any or all curriculum modules may be prepared.

Keep in mind, this is not even close to an exhaustive services list.  I’m willing to take on any copywriting, ghostwriting or speechwriting job you have in mind.  If I feel like I can really nail it, I’ll tell you so.  If I feel like it’s going to be a learning experience we’ll need to work through together, I’ll tell you that too.  In all cases, please contact me to discuss the details of your specific project so we can both be sure we know what we’re getting in to!
